World of Warcraft: Must Have Addons for WoW
77
Top Eight must have addons for World of Warcraft.
These are must have addons for the massive multiplayer game of World of Warcraft. Addons are programs that are supported by Blizzard but made by a third party that enable you to customize your game play. The most trusted website that supports these addons is curse.net. I highly recommend downloading the curse client (free). This program will allow your addons to be easily updated, and for you to easily download and install new addons. As with most programs there is a free version and version that costs (its not worth it in my opinion). it’s a very easy to navigate program. Well without further waiting here is my selection of must have addons.
1.) Omen Threat Meter: A definite must if you are going to be raiding. A players attacks generate a certain amount of threat. For certain classes, especially a warlock, this threat can buildup and you can pull aggro (monsters hate level) off of the tank. In instance with bosses hitting really hard, I don’t recommend pulling aggro off the boss. This threat meter will let you know to slow down your dps (damage per second) or to use a spell that erases/lowers your threat.
2.) Gatherer: For those of you who want to gather ore, or herbs I recommend this addon. This addon will show you where to find ore nodes or herbs on the map. The programs works by cataloguing every place where you find materials. It also will store locations of materials that guildies or people in your party gather from.
3.) Atlas Loot: A very nice addon. This shows you what items drops in certain instances. What can be crafted. It shows pretty much every item in the game and how to get it. it’s a must for people who are looking to gearup their characters or just the average joe that wants to find that unique trinket that shoots rainbows (felwood quest).
4.) Bartender 4: This addon allows you to customize your interface. You can add extra bars, easily key bind, and shape the bars to any which way you want.
5.) Deadly Boss Mod: If you are planning on doing any PvE (player vs Environment) then you HAVE TO download this mod. Let me say that again YOU HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THIS MOD. This mod shows you boss mechanics. If a boss is going to do an AOE (area of effect) that kills instantly, Deadly Boss Mod (DBM) will tell you to run away. If you need to separate yourself from other raid members because a boss is using a chain lightning type spell, it will put a radar on your screen to show you if you are too close to other raiders. it’s a must. And for the PvP’ers ( Player vs Players) it will show you how long til the Alliance kicks your horde butts. Or when a Horde tower is going to be capped. Its very useful.
6.) Recount: Another good raider mod to have. This mod will show you amount of healing done or dps done per fight. This mod is very useful is optimizing the amount of damage you do. This is probably one of the most popular addons, right next to DBM.
7.) Healers have to die: This addon is not very well known and it’s a shame because its VERY useful. Especially if you have a hard time finding healers when PvP’ing. In battlegrounds or PvP healers can make or break a fight. With this mod it will put a large Red X above enemy healers allow you to instantly target them. If you are a healer and your reading this…Im sorry ;-)
8.) Got an addon that you think should have made my list? Feel free to write me or place a comment below to add to this list.

I like them all, but when I put too many on... LAGG!
I use Healbot now but I'll check out Grid. I'm more of a Quest/5 Man Dungeon/PvP person than a raider so I don't keep up with a lot of what's considered standard raiding addons, I've always just used what helped me in the little things I do.
Have to say, I'm glad I found that Bartender thanks to you. I think Healers Must Die can be a waste though, as common sense can often dictate who the healer is. It's not hard to spot a Paladin standing still raising his arms to heal, if you just spend a few seconds looking. Yet I suppose it is useful in the heat of battle.
Thanks for this wonderous guide, voted up! ^^

I would add Healbot on there, which isn't JUST for healers. If you have a pet (DK, Hunter, Warlock) you can easily set it up to heal your pets, and if you're a class with buffs, you can set it up to buff people. You can actually customize it to easily do anything. So, even though it's called "Healbot", it does a lot more than just that.
